Thomas John Ellis—now famously known as Tom Ellis, is a Welsh actor from Cardiff, Wales who was born on Nov. 17, 1978. His acting career grew playing Satan in the Fox series—Lucifer. Playing a devil is one thing, but is Ellis a nice guy off-camera?

Tom told the Chicago Tribune that he likes to play pranks on his co-stars and crew. He revealed this in his first movie called Buffalo Soldiers, which also starred Joaquin Phoenix, saying that during meals, he would ask a few of his ‘unsuspecting victims’ to smell if his custard dessert smelled okay and then would cream them on the face.
On his next job in the BBC show called Nice Guy Eddie, the catering department served trifle, a delicious layered treat made with sponge cake, cream, jelly, and fruits which he was enjoying with the crew. One of the runners was carrying hers and he leaned over to smell it and asked her if it smelled funny, next thing you know the poor girl also got creamed on the face.
Tom expected everyone to laugh but unfortunately, his trick backfired and the runner burst into tears and ran off. The Lucifer star was so remorseful that he had to beg for her forgiveness for about two days and even bought her flowers.
Since then, his pranking days have mellowed down—making everyone laugh at his jokes and bloopers.
Being a Loving Family Man
The Miranda actor is a father of three daughters. His eldest, Nora Ellis, was born in 2005 and even made a cameo on the Season 5 finale of Lucifer during a funeral scene. Florence and Marnie Ellis are his daughters shared with his ex-wife actress Tamzin Outhwaite. He is currently married to a television and movie producer, Maeghan Oppenheimer.
Though his past relationships with his kids’ mothers have ended, he stays present in his children’s lives and seems to have a good relationship with his parents and siblings—and did you know that he has a twin sister named Lucy?

In 2021, the sexy actor partnered with British fashion brand Rupert and Buckley to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Charity by creating a Tom Ellis Collection.
Fashion United UK wrote that the line was available for a limited time and aimed to raise £100,000 to support seriously ill kids across the UK, with the full proceeds going to the charity. It featured 25 products for men, women, and children, all made from organic materials by FairWear which ensures that factory workers get fair pay and decent working conditions.
The GOSH ambassador said “I have partnered with Rupert and Buckley because I not only love their clothes, but I am a huge supporter of their mission to be a carbon-neutral company. Raising money for people who need it whilst also working with a company who make beautiful clothes and are mindful of the environment is at the heart of this project.”
